Procedure:
Before (Activation):
When students arrive, have the following pictures on the screen:
Car exhaust (carbon monoxide)
Nail polish remover (acetone)
Rat poison (arsenic)
Mothballs (napthalene)
Discuss - would you put these things into your body? Why not?
Using media cart or Smartboard screen, teacher can navigate information portions of site and discuss the harmful substances in cigarettes and why/how they harm the body (see this page and this page)
.Students will complete the Smoking Information sheet, based on information from the website. Students may be given access to the website in order to complete this worksheet, or asked to complete from memory.
